Revealing the first Russian beauties to conquer the universe

In the past 50 years, three Russian women flew into space: Valentina Tereshkova in 1963, 19 years later - Svetlana Savitskaya, and after 12 years Elena Kondakova. Their flights are all groundbreaking.

June 16 to mark the 50th anniversary of the flight into space by the Russian cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova - the first female astronaut of humanity.

So far, the cosmic space has marked the presence of more than 50 women from different countries, most notably American women. The first steps, new records and discoveries are all the work of Soviet and Russian astronauts.

From the Soviet Union to Russia in the past 50 years, three women flew into space: Valentina Tereshkova in 1963, 19 years later - Svetlana Savitskaya and Elena Kondakova after 12 years. Everyone's flight was groundbreaking and feat as stated by Igor Marinin, academician of the Russian Space Academy KE Tsiolkovsky.

Igor Marinin said: 'Valentina Tereshkova's first flight is an experiment, how the female body adapts in a gravityless environment, and whether women can control the spacecraft and Do any task as well as men do.

The rare test showed that space flight is the heavy work of men. And the woman experienced that special condition very hard.

The next period in 1980, a large group of women engineers, pilots and doctors were chosen to fly into space. But the preparation process shows that the universe, though 20 years after the flight of Gagarin, is still the hard work of men. Therefore, not every woman is suitable for harsh space flights. Svetlana Savitskaya alone has passed the challenge.

She completed the flight, surpassing the American astronaut Sally Wright - who flew on the shuttle. During the second flight, Svetlana became the first woman to go out into space. Once again is the record flight. Women have reached the miracle. The next female astronaut Elena Kondakova made the first long flight. '

During the 1960s and 1980s, Russia had plans to bring a series of female astronauts into space. In the city of "Star" - an astronaut training center in the outskirts of Moscow, there is an all-female unit that lives, works and trains for potential flights.

Selection criteria are very strict. Age 30 and under, height - 1m70, body weight less than 70kg, skilled in skydiving sport. After being recruited into the formation, starting many months, practicing hard.

Elena Dobrokvashina, a member of this unit, recounted: 'I was actually not a person of sports, never liked sports and never had a serious attitude about sports. So when I joined the team, I had to cope with overburdened physical activity that required great effort. Regarding professional education I am a doctor, but I have to learn more technical subjects. It also requires great efforts. '

After that, the criteria for selecting female astronauts were lowered, especially physically. The main thing is that women expect the universe to be healthy and useful in orbit and at the same time be doctors or engineers.

The next female Russian astronaut could be Elena Serova. Her flight to the International Space Station is scheduled for fall 2014. To prepare for this trip, Elena has been practicing for 7 years now.

Elena's partner is also an astronaut. They hope to one day fly to orbit space together. This will be the first step towards exploring other planets - on long flights it is possible to send astronauts the whole family way.
