Robot arm support disabled
A group of young people in HCM City successfully built a robotic arm, supporting the movement of shoulders and elbows to help the elderly and the disabled in their daily work.

Robot arm model.
The robot arm has 7 degrees of freedom, controlled by 7 brushless motors. This device integrates many new control algorithms that make it easy to amplify signals into desired user movements.
"That means, the operator just need to move the arm slightly, the robot will move in front of a small space that outsiders do not see, only the new driver feel to get something the user wants , " said Truong Trong Toai, a member of the 3T robot group, said.
According to Toai, in everyday life, the elderly or disabled people are difficult to handle heavy objects, robots will help them do this.
"When old and disabled people want to drink, they only need to use light power in the direction of the cup, the robot arm will move and take that object for them," said Toại.
The upper arm will support the movement of the shoulders and elbows. The robot arm can hold, grasp and move objects weighing about 1kg.
In the coming time, Toai's research team will develop further versions focusing on practical applications in life, simpler and more convenient for users with low cost.
