The plan to bring Mike Hopkins, an American astronaut on the International Space Station (ISS), back to Earth by the end of this month by Russian means will not change.
Russian and US space research cooperation began many years ago and were never affected by the impact of the political situation, even when Russian soldiers entered Georgia in 2008. ISS has been operating for 13 years. past and uninterrupted by international crisis issues.
Russia is a country that plays a key role in ISS with participation in both manpower and technology. After the US spacecraft ceased operations in 2011, Russia's Soyuz spacecraft was a means of moving from the Earth to the ISS and vice versa by the country's astronauts.
Under the agreement between the two countries, to bring each researcher to ISS and return to Earth, the United States must pay Russia about 70 million USD. The agreement is expected to last for many years until US private companies complete a new type of vehicle to bring researchers to ISS.
