Russia successfully launched the US satellite from the launch pad

On August 19, Russia successfully launched the US Intelsat-21 telecommunications satellite into orbit with the Zenit-3SL boosters from the Odyssey floating platform on the Pacific Ocean.

Sea Launch International Group, which carried out the said launch, confirmed that the satellite is in orbit, at the right position and the ground has received a signal confirming it.

Intelsat-21, a 5.6-ton telecommunications satellite manufactured by Boeing, is released by the Sea Launch Group at 10:55 pm Moscow time (655 GMT) on August 19. Intelsat-21 was designed to operate continuously for 15 years to replace Intelsat-9 to ensure direct communication via satellite to residential areas in Latin America.

Sea Launch Group was established in 1995, including 4 companies of the US, Russia, Ukraine and Norway. By 2010, Sea Launch reorganized its operations, in which Russian companies accounted for 95% of the shares.
