56 sycamore and 5 horned trees at Pu Hoat nature reserve (Que Phong and Nghe An districts) have been honored by the Vietnam Association for Nature and Environment Protection. Among these are 3.7m in diameter, 60m high.

Pu Hoat Nature Reserve has 85,200 ha located in 9 communes of Que Phong district.This is one of the three core zones of Western Western Nghe An Biosphere Reserve with a large area of ​​primeval forest and high biodiversity.In this nature reserve, populations of oil saplings distributed in majestic natural forests running along the Vietnam-Laos border in the area of ​​3 communes Nam Giai, Hanh Dich and Tri Le are 1,200 - 1,800m high compared to the water level. sea.

Populations of oil are divided into 7 areas with a number of trees up to thousands, of which 56 saplings have been honored in Vietnam heritage tree.

Trees with the largest diameter are 3.7m, height 60m.The average diameter is 2m;nearly 50m high.The age of these trees is thousands of years.

Oil Samu not only represents the Pu Hoat plant, or the western biosphere reserve area, but is a symbol of the flora of the Northern Truong Son prize, of the Vietnamese flora.These plants are not only of scientific value, genetic source, economic value, but also of greater value are cultural values.

Along with 56 sycamore trees, 5 horned trees in Pu Hoat nature reserve were also honored as heritage trees .These trees are distributed at an elevation of about 850m above sea level.

The horn is a large, straight, round tree species with a height of over 30m, with trees up to 50-60m in diameter, the diameter may be greater than 2m, the stump has a buttress.
