Safe for teen drivers
American parents are often reluctant to let their children drive for safety reasons, but Ford's new invention will help keep them safe.
Next year, an electronic system will be equipped for Ford's new line of vehicles, requiring experienced drivers to drive.
A safe driving system called MyKey is activated when the driver uses a special key. MyKey allows parents to program a maximum speed of 70 to 130 km / h. Once the speed is reached, the car will sound a warning tone and ask the driver to slow down. This smart system also includes an early warning feature for vehicles running low on fuel and preventing drivers from opening the car when the seat belt is not applied or the music is too loud. In addition, MyKey also has an emergency support function. When the car collides so aggressively that it releases the airbags, the system sends messages to rescue services via the telephone network.
Paul Mascarena, Ford's technical director, said MyKey was developed not only for young people, but also for speed enthusiasts.
