Samsung sues against Sharp copyright infringement
Samsung Electronics has officially filed a rival deal last week with Sharp copyrighted its LCD liquid crystal display technology.
' We officially sued Sharp in the two main areas of Delaware (USA) and Tokyo (Japan), ' Samsung spokesman James Chung said. ' In addition, we also asked the US International Trade Commission to conduct a detailed investigation of this copyright infringement .'
In fact, this is a reverse lawsuit. This month Sharp filed a petition with Seol Central District Court to sue Samsung for copyright infringement. Last August Sharp also sued Samsung for copyright infringement in the US.
Answering the press report about Samsung's reaction to the move, Sharp said that after studying details of Samsung's allegations, it will take necessary steps to protect itself.
Samsung's move could be seen as the latest in a legal battle between Asian technology firms. The war is becoming more and more intense as these companies increasingly focus more on protecting technology copyright to maintain their competitive edge.
