Save the life of the brain pierced
Military Hospital 211 has rescued a young man who was stabbed in the head 5 cm deep, puncturing his brain. After 2 hours Stab wound - photograph taken by film (Photo: SGGP) surgery, the doctor withdrew the dagger in the patient's head .
The victims are Mr. Pham Lam Hao, 22 years old, residing in 272, Phan Dinh Phung, Pleiku City (Gia Lai). Mr. Hao entered Military Hospital 211 at 23:45 on July 20.
When hospitalized, the victim was stabbed by a Thai knife and stuck to his head. The victim suffered heavy blood loss and coma.
The results of an x-ray showed a stab wound (in the right temple) 5 cm deep, over the brain more than 3 cm. The victim was operated on immediately and after more than two hours, the knife was safely removed from the patient's head.
Dr. Vo Van Khoi, Chairman of the Department of Resuscitation and Emergency Medicine, Military Medical Institute 211, said that this is one of the rare cases to be saved.
By 16:00 on July 22, Mr. Pham Lam Hao was in critical condition.
