A Chinese fisherman has caught a bizarre creature in a small river in the southern province of Sichuan. Although it is not known exactly what it is, there is an opinion that it can be an extremely rare fungus, bringing immortality to humans.

The People's Daily website reported that Mr. Luong Van Quan, 45, had been fishing as usual after lunch on September 28. He pedaled more than 4km to a famous fishing spot of the Da River in Sichuan Province, southern China.

It was indeed a really unlucky day for Mr. Quan, when he could not catch any fish even though he spent the afternoon waiting. However, by about 5 pm, he found his fishing rod caught something quite large.

Anomalous creatures are about 20cm long and weigh more than 6.3kg. It also possesses dark spots throughout the body.

One of Mr. Quan's friends is working for a Chinese pharmaceutical company, stating that a strange creature might be "Thai tuoi" , an extremely rare fungus.

In traditional Chinese medicine books, minced mushrooms are listed as a fungus that has healing effects since the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The emperors of this country used to eat a lot of minced mushrooms in the hope that it would help them extend their life and even immortality.
