Shenzhou-13 astronaut completes 2nd spacewalk

In the early morning of December 27, during China's first space station construction mission, the Shenzhou 13 astronauts completed the second spacewalk lasting about 6 hours.

According to information from the China Space Program Office, Shenzhou-13 spacecraft mission commander Zhuo Zhigang and the youngest crew member, Ye Guangfu, have safely returned to the module. The crew completed the objectives set out for this mission, such as raising the panoramic camera and installing foot stabilizers outside the cabin. This is China's fourth spacewalk from the space station's core module this year. It took place when the Shenzhou-13 crew worked and lived here for 72 days and less than two months after the first spacewalk on November 7.

On the maiden voyage, the only female crew member, Wang Yaping, became China's first female astronaut to perform a spacewalk.

In the future, spacewalking will become a regular part of China's space station construction missions.
