'The wall runs along the ridge, the high hill of the hanging mountains east of Shandong Province. It is very well preserved. It is hard for anyone to imagine it as zigzagging through such a large area, ' study researcher Feinman said.

The wall is believed to be for nations during the Spring and Autumn War period. At that time feudal dynasties in the area of China today were constantly expanding their army and fighting each other. This period of separation only ended when Qin Shihuang was crowned and united all the vassal states into a Qin dynasty in 221 BC.
