Should headphones be worn at the time of take-off and landing?
Landing / landing is the most dangerous stage of flights. Cases of aircraft accidents mainly occur at these two periods. The escape on the plane takes up to 90 seconds.
Passengers wearing headphones will not be able to grasp the attendant's instructions.
In the event of an emergency evacuation, a headset-wearing passenger will not be able to grasp the attendant's instructions. At the same time wearing headphones also affects the escape of others because they are not aware of their surroundings.
Besides, it is also important to turn off the transceiver devices during the take-off / landing phase. At these two stages, the crew must concentrate highly to keep in touch with the air traffic control station (ATC). Systems on airplanes mostly use radio waves. Therefore, when passengers use transceiver equipment, it is easy to cause interference, making the crew not catch the signal or not hear the information from ATC, causing danger.
The Aviation Administration of Vietnam has advised airlines and passengers to regulate the use of transceiver equipment. Accordingly, the transceivers, headsets, computers, and mobile devices are not used during take-off / landing aircraft.
These devices are only used when the aircraft reaches a height of 3,000m (flight level). If a violation is detected, the attendant may make a report. Passengers will be subject to an administrative fine of 3-5 million VND.
