Simple steps to speed up Windows Vista

With just a few quick steps, users can make a big difference in the performance of the system running on Microsoft's new operating system.

Turn off Windows Search Indexing

Search Indexing regularly browses files on the system to quickly display content whenever users type search commands.

- Click Start -> Computer

- Right-click on drive C

- Find General Tab , remove Index this drive for faster searching

- When the dialog box appears, select Include subfolders and files

Turn off Remote Differential Compression

Remote Differential Compression evaluates files in the network to be able to transmit them with the smallest bandwidth. Continuous checking of file changes makes system performance significantly reduced.

- Open Control Panel

- Switch to Classic View

- Select Program Features

- Select Turn Windows features on and off

- Find and unmark the Remote Differential Compression

- Open Control Panel

- Select Windows Defender -> Tools

- Select Options

- Uncheck Auto Start at the bottom of the window

Turn off Automatic Disk Defragmentation

- Plug in a USB / flash drive

- Click Start -> Computer

- Right-click USB Drive in My Computer

- Choose Ready Boost Tab

- Select Use this device

Turn off Windows Hibernation

This feature consumes a lot of system resources. If not used often, you should turn it off.

- Select Control Panel -> Power Options

- Click Change Plan Settings

- Click Change Advanced Power Settings

- Open Sleep selection -> Hibernate After selection

- Reduce parameter to 0
