Currently, users mainly use Skype's program to chat on two ends, although the software can serve conferences with 10 bridges at the same time. However, with the new service, the number of "bridgeheads" will be expanded 10 times.
To ensure a smooth conference, the Skypecasts forces you to select a "host" to host and control the meeting. It is this Host who will allow this person to speak, the other person will listen, avoid the situation of competing.
Mr. Saul Klein, vice president of global marketing for Skype, said the Skypecasts service is only in the form of "start-up" and tested and it will continue to be upgraded and completed in the near future.
Users can also find Skypecasts on the Skype website, where all seminars are publicly listed.
Skype describes Skypecasts as a new way to help people discuss common interests and concerns. At this point, Six Apart, the parent company of TypePad network and blogging services, Movable Type and LiveJournal, plans to promote Skypecast within its virtual forums.
On the same occasion, Skype released a new test version of Skype, allowing users to send SMS messages to mobile phones at low rates.
Other new features are: Call directly from Skype to contacts in Microsoft Outlook; sharing contacts groups with friends; Pay for services such as calling to landline phones without closing the application. In previous versions of Skype, users had to visit the Skype site if they wanted to pay.
