Stadium effect in the eye of storm

American scientists on the plane hunted storms and witnessed the "stadium effect" in the super typhoon ranks among the most powerful on the planet.

The Hurricane Hunter of the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) flew straight into the center of the super typhoon Irma, one of the most dangerous storms on the planet. The new video shared by NOAA yesterday revealed a scene in the storm that is about to hit the US, according to the New York Times.

Carrying a series of scientific equipment, the research aircraft confronted directly with super typhoons. All the sound of the person sitting in the plane can really be heard is the moan of the engine. The research group Lockheed WP-3D Orion of the research team has 4 turbocharged engines that make the vehicle strong enough to cope with the strongest winds. External radar combined with air pressure sensor, temperature and humidity helps weather forecast experts to model storms.

NOAA's hurricane team recorded the "stadium effect" of the powerful level 5 storm. The eye area looks like a sports dome with a smaller space looking directly down at the stadium below. Outside the bright center of the dome are the most violent winds with winds of at least 300km / h in the afternoon of September 5. As the pilot got closer to the hurricane circulation, the vision was blurred, the clouds darkened and the aircraft shook vigorously.

Irma will hit the US and destroy the southeast coast, mainly Florida, on September 10, just days after the country's southern disaster suffered from super typhoon Harvey. Authorities are evacuating residents in areas likely to be directly affected by Typhoon Irma.
