Underground stadium
To create an advantage in the competition to host the 2018 World Cup, Qatar is setting up a construction project in Doha, an underground stadium.
To be able to host the World Cup, one of the prerequisites is that there must be a standard stadium (FIFA) system to consider. And from a technical perspective, the underground stadium in Doha will be the top candidate to choose. Accordingly, this stadium only has a stand standing above the ground, the rest are upright and deep in the ground.
The design is called "Wall" (Wall) by MZ & Partners, in Doha. Previously, the company has completed several underground projects such as hotels and office buildings. But if other buildings can be seen from afar, then this stadium only sees white raised walls like a laptop screen when opened. People are also considering a plan that can "fold" up and down. If that is the case, that would be unbelievable. The grass field corresponds to the keyboard, but sinks deep underground. The remaining stands and rooms for commentators and newspapers surround this "keyboard". Overall, the overall rise of the stadium is like a wide and fairly flat hill. The lighting system is not the same as normal stadiums, the headlights are designed to suit every angle of the yard to create even light.
With a country with a hot climate like Qatar, the groundwater submerged will avoid the sun's harsh sun. This saves costs when not using many air conditioners. People judge this architecture as a miracle, or in other words it is a "paranoid" in the hot sand desert.
However, "The Wall" has a drawback: It can only hold 11 thousand spectators, the number is too modest for a football field. Whether Doha is selected as the venue for the 2018 World Cup or not until June 2011 and is expected, the underground stadium in Doha will be completed in 2010. Whatever the final result of FIFA, the stadium underground in Doha also deserves a unique architectural work.
