Strawberries help prevent flu
Each serving consists of 8 medium-sized strawberries containing 84 mg of vitamin C and helps you increase your ability to fight flu. Strawberries are still known to contain more nutrients, less sugar and more vitamin C than oranges.
" Most people add vitamin C to oranges, but if you compare 1 ounce of orange with one pound of strawberries, strawberries definitely contain more vitamin C, " said Navindra Seeram, a researcher at the University of California, USA.
Seerem said a diet rich in vitamin C may help eliminate the possibility of flu, limit severe symptoms and shorten the duration of illness.
Scientists also found that strawberries can prevent dementia in old age. This fruit contains an antioxidant that enhances brain activity in laboratory mice. It is fisetin, a natural chemical that protects cells from aging. However, in order to enjoy this benefit of strawberries, people need to eat about 4.5 kg per day.
