The US meteorological agency said the earthquake happened at 11:19 am and caused Tokyo buildings to shake, the subway stopped automatically . The epicenter is located 83 km north of the capital and at a depth of 20 km.

There have been no reports of casualties or damage from this earthquake, as well as no tsunami photos, NHK said.

Tokyo TEPCO said the tremor did not prevent the rescue team from working day and night to cool reactors at the plant affected by the earthquake and tsunami last month.

Japan is struggling to overcome the consequences of a double disaster on March 11, causing more than 13,500 people to die and about 15,000 people missing. Tens of thousands of others were left homeless while many people were forced to evacuate the area around the Fukushima I. nuclear plant.

Radiation leakage at the factory has prompted the Japanese government to ban the distribution of manufactured goods from the affected area. This makes it difficult for the livestock and farming industry to worry about radiation in food.

Yesterday, the Japanese government also asked TEPCO to compensate tens of thousands of people who lost their homes because of the nuclear crisis. Estimates of compensation amounts to billions of dollars.

Since the March 11 earthquake and tsunami, Japan has suffered hundreds of aftershocks, sometimes up to 7.1 on the Richter scale .
