Strong earthquakes in Hawaii
(Photos: xinhuanet) Flights arriving and departing from Honolulu airports have been severely delayed.
US scientists have recorded a 6-mile earthquake off the southwest coast of Puaku town of Hawaii.
The initial earthquake following the aftershocks caused vibration and power outages to feel about 150 miles away.
There have been heavy losses in some areas that have collapsed walls and soil along a main highway.
Some people suffered minor injuries but no one died. Geophysics tracking the Pacific region said the earthquake was not strong enough to alert the Tsunami tsunami but they said the aftershocks would continue for several weeks.
People are advised not to use roads and power outages will last for a while. Water supply is also limited.
In Waikiki some tourists are lining up outside grocery stores to buy food and water.
The most recent earthquake with the same intensity occurred in the state of Hawaii nearly twenty years ago.
