After joining the WTO, the agricultural sector has had many successes in terms of agricultural, forestry and fishery exports. Many scientific applications have helped agricultural products to increase productivity, output, quality and competitiveness in the market.

As a result, agricultural export turnover has increased at a rate of 24% per year and total turnover of USD 16,475 million (2008), exceeding the planned target for 52% by 2010.
