Mr. Benz, one of the three fishermen, said that around 11 am that day, they saw something milky white floating on the sea surface, coming closer to discover that the giant squid was dead. The people on the boat have not seen such a large squid so they have picked it up. The people at the port saw this huge squid, unable to hide their surprise.

Benz contacted the wildlife conservation organization. The body of the squid has been taken to Florida Museum of Natural History for research. It is known that the largest squid - the largest invertebrate in the world - can be about 18 meters long and weighs 1 ton.

According to Roger Portell, an ancient invertebrate creature in the Florentine museum, giant squid lives in large oceans around the world, but this species rarely appears in the Atlantic Ocean.

" It's a very rare species ." " They tend to live in deep water so we don't usually see them, " Roger Portell said.
