Stunned at the 'Atlantis Russia' sinking deep into the lake
An 'Atlantis Russia' has risen from a large lake in Siberia that is melting, revealing graves from prehistoric times, remains and incredible treasure.
Currently, Russian archaeologists have identified the date of the tombs from the Bronze Age to the time of Genghis Khan . This newly discovered 'Atlantis' is located in the Republic of Tuva , mountainous in southern Siberia in Russia.
The remains are found in tombs at 'Atlantis Russia'.
It is known that by early July, the water will rise again and cover the graves again to 50ft deep, freezing in the winter, until the next thaw in the summer of next year. So archaeologists could only work here until the end of June before this "Atlantis Russia" was once again engulfed.
Archaeologists said that this particular area belonged to the ancient Hun people from 2000 years ago. A whole population of about 110 tombs and other precious jewels suddenly appeared after this thaw.
Close up of the remains is found in the tombs of 'Atlantis Russia' and the objects buried.
Dr. Marina Kilunovskaya from St Petersburg Institute of Material History and Culture, who led the archaeological expedition to Tuva, said: 'We are extremely fortunate to find the graves of wealthy Hun nomads. There have been no signs of being disturbed by grave robbers'.
The whole tomb of the ancient Hun people.
Here, archaeologists have found two skeletons with costumes of leather pieces, and it seems that this is the grave of those with special roles in ancient Hun society , Dr. Kilunovskaya shared with Siberian Times. In particular, he said that this is the remains of women by Hun society living according to matriarchy, respect and promotion of women. Next to the skeleton was a bag of pine nuts, which was considered the last meal for the dead of the Hun people.
The well-carved pieces of wood were also found in the graves.
Besides, many masterpieces such as belt buckle with dragon tiger or other animals are decorated with multicolored pearls, the remaining pieces of wood with elaborate carved patterns and lots of stock treasures containing jewelry made of copper alloy, silk clothes that were sunk deep under the water were also found.
'Although many records show that these ancient Hun people were nomadic people, at the same time, they still had their settlements, where they lived for a long time . This is the home of the wealthy and well-established people in ancient Hun society and we are conducting research on this place, ' Dr Kilunovskaya added.
