Sun fish

The sun fish in the scientific name Mola mola has many strange characteristics. The body is short, looks almost like a oval or a circle, looks from a distance like a big head, has short, long fins above and below.

Although the body is large (adult males have an average body length of 3.5 m; average weight is about 1.7 tons), but with a limp body structure, the sunfish swim weakly; most of the time, they only let the mass of their bodies float freely according to the currents. Adults like to drift sideways. Sometimes ocean currents take them from the tropics to the temperate regions.

Sun fish deserves to be the champion in the ocean world for achievement . spawn. Although the gestation period lasted only 3 weeks, the sunfish could lay up to 300,000,000 (three hundred million eggs) each time. Eggs also float along the ocean currents.

Most of their lives live away from the mainland. Young sun fish swim normally like any other fish, until they grow up, they begin to "lazy" - just like to drift along the ocean currents. Young children gather together in groups. But when they grew up, they just liked to live alone, floating around the vast oceans.

They are named "Sun Fish" because they are believed to "sunbathe" on the surface of the sea because they often find themselves swimming around the water.

The dorsal and anal fins are long, tall and located near the end of the body; Dorsal fins are small and round, caudal fin is only a narrow band with little swimming effect. The skin is thick, rough and tough, the upper body is gray or brown, and the color is lighter.
