At least 3 people died and tens of thousands of people were evacuated when super typhoon Melor began to land Philippines last night.

Super Typhoon Melor swept through the central part of the Philippines this morning carrying heavy rain and strong winds.Among those killed, one died from hypothermia, two drowned.They all live in Catarman, a poor fishing town in North Samar province, south of Manila.
