"I support veterinarian Michelle Barrow of Bristol Zoo in a Monty surgery, lasting 45 minutes, " said HVG member Sonya Miles. According to Miles, Monty is a special patient and the tumor removal process goes smoothly from start to finish.

According to the Telegraph, Monty is taken home to Bristol and is slowly recovering. The entire cost for this process is £ 200.

Last September, an Australian veterinarian also performed special surgery to remove the tumor in the brain of a goldfish.
