BMPT-72 Destroyer was built to destroy enemy armored vehicles, supporting main battle tanks.

BMPT-72, also called Terminator-2 (Terminator 2), was introduced by Russia in 2013. This is an upgraded version from BMPT Terminator 1 built in the early 2000s.

The destroyer was built for the task of protecting the main battle tank formation.In urban combat conditions, 2 BMPTs will protect a main battle tank.When operating outside the city, a BMPT will protect two tanks.

Destroyer 2 is equipped with a powerful weapon system with 2 2A42 30mm automatic guns, 4 Ataka-T 9M120 anti-tank missiles and a 7.62mm PKTM machine gun.

The 2A42 gun has a firing rate of 800 rounds per minute, the target range of 4,000m.The Ataka-T missile is guided by radio waves capable of penetrating armor to 950mm, a range of up to 6,000m.

Destroyer 2 is equipped with a modern sensor system that can detect targets regardless of day and night.Vehicle observation system can detect vehicle size increase target at distance of 7,000m.
