Currently, people in the Central Highlands province have developed tea coffee plants to diversify products and improve production and business efficiency.

Since 1985, Tay Nguyen Agriculture and Forestry Science Institute has imported Catimor F4 tea from Cuba to plant. This tomato variety is easy to grow, resistant to rust, adapted to many ecological zones, high yield and good product quality.
In the condition of normal fertilizing, proper technical process, the average yield is 2 tons / ha. The condition of high intensive farming at the Institute has reached 5 tons / ha.
Developing Catimor coffee plants in Vietnam, creating a structure with a suitable product ratio between Rubosta and tea coffee, to diversify export products.
Determining the type of coffee Catimor is the best of all varieties of tea grown in Vietnam, the Institute has provided seeds to many localities over the past time, many businesses have developed production.
Currently, the country grows 26,000 hectares of Catimor coffee. In particular, Son La province planted over 3,000ha, Lam Ha district (Lam Dong), Huong Hoa (Quang Tri) have developed thousands of hectares and achieved high economic efficiency.
Krong Buk Rubber Company (Vietnam Rubber Industry Group) located in Krong Nang district (Dak Lak) intercropping 1,000 ha of rubber with Catimor coffee. Each year, the company earns from 8,000 to nearly 1,200 tons of coffee beans, earning tens of billions of dong.
