Technology for APEC journalism: Comfortable and modern
APEC International Press Center (International Media Center - IMC) will officially go into operation from today (November 10) with the ability to meet the maximum needs of the journalists in and out of the country. .
Located on the 3rd floor of the National Convention Center, the IMC center area is a large room of about 500m2, enough room for 300 reporters to work at the same time. It is a modern press center that will surely be used not only during the APEC Conference, but also ready for Vietnam to host major international conferences later.

Reporters can report the fastest with the help of technology. There are 195 extremely powerful desktop computers, dozens of waiting ports for laptops. Two systems of switchboards and about 400 telephone and fax lines have been installed at IMC and areas for national delegations at the National Convention Center; 1000 nodes of computer network have been designed to connect and access Internet around the clock. Two high-speed Internet connections, including one backup line to ensure absolute safety and fast access speed; Wireless Internet access system (WiFi) is also available.
According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan - a member of the equipment department of the Logistics Sub-Committee - to ensure the security of the network at IMC, the subcommittee has established a network of security and network safety, timely prevention of the spread. virus, install unauthorized software, fire prevention and intrusion prevention software. Even with latpop's own reporters, the organizers are expected to install anti-virus software and stamp confirm safety before giving them a network connection.
IMC arranged 2 large 300-inch screens and a 51-inch LCD monitor to broadcast live APEC meetings. In addition to this central area, IMC also has a press room with a capacity of 300 reporters to serve delegations and 51 small rooms equipped with television sets, Internet connection lines, telephone lines to directly call abroad, and the first Signal receiver cable… for domestic and foreign news agencies.
Mr. Vu Van Dai - technician of Voice of Vietnam, in charge of the audio part of IMC, said that the audio signal divider for domestic and foreign journalists in English and Vietnamese has been installed and complete test. Reporters can take 100 signals at the same time to record standard audio.
