APEC 2006: Enhancing security with chip card technology
At the APEC Vietnam Summit 2006, which took place from November 12 to November 19 in Hanoi, the security work was placed on top of the protection forces. In addition to the modern security control systems used, this time the chip card technology has been applied to issuing access cards for working people at the National Convention Center.
At all doors of the National Convention Center, the access card identification system is available. Each access card is chip attached with the identification system, the database of the cases issued. So every hour of arrival, time of departure, images of each person coming in and out will be displayed right on the security staff's computer screen when it comes to the identification system. This helps security personnel to closely and accurately examine those who enter and exit the National Convention Center.
