Teenagers drink a lot of milk is not good

For years, milk is good for children's health and development. However, excessive drinking of adolescent milk may increase the risk of prostate cancer, US Journal of Epidemiology.

Prostate cancer is a common disease in men today, ranking second after lung cancer. If the disease is detected early, the recovery rate reaches 90%. Conversely, if detected late, the survival rate after 5 years is less than 30%.

'Researchers tracked 8,894 men born between 1907 and 1935. Research subjects came from different places in Iceland, and had different milk regimes. For 24 years, 1,123 of these men had prostate cancer, 371 of whom had advanced prostate cancer , 'said Johanna, head of research at the University of Iceland.

Before 1920, men in the capital had a low milk intake, so only 29% of them were diagnosed with prostate cancer. However, in rural areas with a large consumption of milk, men here increase by 64% the risk of this disease compared to those in the capital.

D. Margel and NE Fleshner, two researchers at the University of Toronto, Canada, said they found a link between estrogen in cow's milk and the risk of prostate cancer. Cow milk stimulates the growth of prostate cancer cells LNCaP by 30%.

Westerners consume larger milk in developed countries. This explains why the rate of prostate cancer in the West is also higher than in other countries

"This is not sufficient evidence to recommend adolescent males to reduce milk intake, while milk has many benefits in this development phase," the researchers concluded.
