How much milk should Vietnamese people drink every day?

Adults 20-49 years of age should use 15 g of cheese (equivalent to one piece), 100 ml of yogurt (one box) and 100 ml of milk (one small cup).

Vietnamese diets only meet 50% of the recommended calcium requirement. The calcium / phosphorus ratio of low diets (milk and milk products are very rich in calcium and are highly bioavailable sources of calcium, which are full of protein, fat, sugar, vitamins and minerals.

Dr. Bui Thi Nhung and Dr. Le Bach Mai, Institute of Nutrition, gave recommendations for milk and milk products for each group. This recommendation aims to improve calcium deficiency, proper use of milk and dairy products.

Children:
  1. 3-5 years : 4 units of milk and dairy products should be used every day. Equivalent to 15g of cheese (one piece of cheese) + 100 ml of yogurt (a box of yogurt) + 200ml of liquid milk (2 glasses of small milk).
  2. 6-7 years old : 4.5 units of milk and dairy products should be used every day. Equivalent to 15g of cheese (one piece of cheese) + 100ml of yogurt (a box of yogurt) + 250ml of liquid milk (2.5 cups of small milk).
  3. 8-9 years : 5 units of milk and dairy products should be used every day. Equivalent to 30g of cheese (2 pieces of cheese) + 100ml of yogurt (a box of yogurt) + 200ml of liquid milk (2 glasses of small milk).
  4. 10-19 years : 6 units of milk and dairy products should be used every day. Equivalent to 30g of cheese (2 pieces of cheese) + 200ml of yogurt (2 cans of yogurt) + 200ml of liquid milk (2 glasses of small milk).

Note to choose milk and milk products

Children:

  1. Children need to be exclusively breastfed from birth until 6 months of age, then eat a reasonable supplement in combination with breastfeeding up to 2 years or longer.
