Test blu-ray disc in Hollywood

On February 2, Panasonic Electronics inaugurated an experimental center for blu-ray disc content at the Hollywood movie capital of Hollywood.

The center opens to verify Blu-ray disc content from film studios that match the specifications and can be run on a blu-ray drive's hard drive. Panasonic said there is currently no way to conduct this test before the disc is copied.

Panasonic is one of the companies that support blu-ray format along with other companies like Sony and Samsung. Last year, the number of Blu-ray Disc players, along with its rivals, was a slow-growing HD DVD player in the United States. However, blu-ray discs have been boosted since Sony's PlayStation 3 console was released in November 2006.

In the US, Panasonic is trading the DMP-BD10 blu-ray player market with a home theater system from last year.
