Born on 4/4/1914 in London (UK), Dr. David Goodall is a world famous botanist and ecologist. He has held important positions in the UK, USA, Australia. After retiring in 1979, Dr. Goodall continued to work up to 103 years and received a 30-volume booklet entitled 500 World Ecosystems. In 2016, he was awarded the Order of Australia Medal.
At 104 years old, Dr. Goodall publicly aspired to die despite being still healthy. In fact, despite not suffering from any chronic disease, the physicist's old physique went down remarkably. At 90, he quit tennis because he could no longer play. The vision is so weak that it is almost blind that the doctor cannot drive and must take pleasure in performing the stage. The research work was also stopped because he could not read the email. Most of the doctor's friends have died.

In early 2018, Dr. Goodall fell in his own apartment. Rescued that no one heard, he lay on the floor for two days until the maid discovered. Since then, doctors have banned Dr. Goodall from using public transport and crossing the street by himself. Too disappointed, he tried suicide 3 times but woke up in the hospital.
Having spent more than 20 years campaigning for the right to die, Dr. Goodall believes that people must be free to decide fate after middle age. However, Australian law does not allow a person's right to die. In May 2018, thanks to the contribution of the community, the scientist set out for Switzerland to leave as expected. Two doctors confirmed that he was fully lucid, qualified to conduct a smooth death.
Before the farewell moment, Dr. Goodall spent his time strolling around Basel University Botanical Garden and his three grandsons."I feel very honored to be with you now," said Daniel, a nephew of the doctor. "What you do is brave. I'm glad you can fulfill your wishes."

"He felt that he had no purpose in life but by publicizing his departure, he contributed greatly to the campaign of death."
"I don't care about clothes, places of living, money or material. All you care about is science and family," Karen choked. "I hope others will remember me like that."
It is expected that in the next few months, Dr. Goodall's memorial service will be held in Perth's hometown.
