The 200 GB Blu-ray disc is about to be available
Each class of new generation DVD now has the highest capacity of 25 GB. But Japan's TDK has just introduced a method that can combine 6 layers into products with the above record capacity.
The storage capacity of each Blu-ray Disc layer manufactured by TDK technology is up to 33 GB. They are further covered with a scratch-resistant cover, dust and other unwanted consequences. This 200 GB disc is made of bismuth peroxide, melting only at 690 degrees Kelvin, equivalent to 416.85oC.
With 200 GB, people can easily store almost any program and movie they love. However, this is a write-once disk (recordable) and the user cannot change the saved content. If TDK continues to release re-writable, that product may become the most expensive and most desirable disk in the storage industry.
