"The scene on the river surface was very exciting. Eagles flew and cried. Suddenly a bald eagle appeared. Immediately I saw a special point on his body. It was the spots. White, " Walter said.

Andrew Griswold, a bald eagle expert, said that the eagle in Walter's picture probably had albinism. The culprit causing albino syndrome is a gene mutation. It makes the animal's body unable to produce pigments on hair or skin.

Patrick Comins, bird conservation director of Audubon Connecticut Association in the US, said albinism occurs in many birds, although it is a rare phenomenon.

Birds with albinism will encounter many disadvantages. For example, their prey and enemies will detect them easily thanks to the white coat. Of course, the white coat will not become weak if the eagle lives in the area covered by snow. Besides, albino birds can be ostracized by their own species because of their distinctive color.
