The best travel photos in 2016

The British travel site Roughguides has just announced the best travel photos of 2016 after selecting over 2,000 photos from around the world.

Author Somenath Mukhopadhyay won the first prize in the Roughguides photo contest with a photo of traditionally decorated children in India.The judges said they were impressed because when they looked at everyone they were attracted by the face, the eyes of the child.

Swarna Susan Anil's second award-winning work portrays a lovely girl next to women wearing traditional clothes in the mountains.

The second prize is a completely different picture of Sirsendu Gayen.It was a moment in a cathedral for Hindus in Varanasi, Uttarpradesh, India when many people were praying.
