The brightest forest fruit on the planet

Deep in the middle of Africa, the forest named Pollia is shiny like a Christmas tree light bulb.

According to Gizmodo, Pollia's fruit is named the world's brightest creature thanks to its microscopic entity structure. In fact, this fruit does not contain the blue pigment as it looks. It is the fruit of Pollia Condensata , which is nearly 50cm tall, grows mainly in Ethiopia, Angola and Mozambique.

The surface of Pollia's fruit made up of 4 layers of thick cells. Each layer consists of many other layers due to fiber fibers combined. All fibers in the class run parallel, but the layers fold slightly around each other, forming a spiral when viewed from above.

When the light shines on the surface of the fruit, the ray of light is reflected back and forth by each layer and magnified according to the constructive interference effect, producing many colorful colors, making Pollia's fruit brighter than all creatures on the planet. . However, this fruit has no nutritional value.

According to physicist Silvia Vignolini of Cambridge University, England, who studies the color of Pollia fruit, the reflective effect occurs from both the left and right sides, of each fibrous cell. This characteristic is very unusual compared to a single cell of any object. The phenomenon of changing the color of Pollia attracted birds and animals to nest on trees.
