The 150-year-old clock tower in central London was officially renamed
Elizabeth Tower, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.

During the official naming ceremony at the foot of the tower, British House Chairman John Bercow said it was a "special and emotional" occasion to celebrate the Queen's 60th year of reign.

This 96m high structure is one of the most famous places in the UK.

The tower was completed in 1858, with Big Ben's 4-sided bell and the famous Big Ben bell weighing 13.5 tons. Over the years, people have called the tower Big Ben instead of the name Westminster Palace Clock Tower and may continue to call it.

'There is almost no chance for tourists and the British people will think this tower is nothing more than Big Ben' , Labor congressman Paul Flynn in the UK said.
