From 1978 to 1985, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences cooperated with Shanxi province in large-scale excavation here. The new series of discoveries of the Dao Tu site demonstrates that the midland area of ​​Hoang Ha River during the reign of King Yao was soon into civilized society. This is the principal source of Chinese civilization.

The researchers said that this is the first site in the central region to enter the kingdom phase, while emphasizing that there are still many issues that need further research, such as the origin of Dao Tu culture and cause of destruction.
