The galaxy has 3 black holes

Scientists have discovered a distant galaxy harboring not only one but three black holes in its core.

For years, experts have argued that most galaxies only own a supermassive black hole, with masses ranging from millions to billions of times the sun.

However, galaxies grow and evolve through coherent activity, and as a result these groups of galaxies sometimes harbor several supermassive black holes at the same time.

That was proven when experts observed a galaxy called SDSS J150243.09 + 111557.3 , located 4.2 billion light-years from Earth, according to Space.com quoted Roger Deane's astronomer as saying. Cape Town University (South Africa).

To study the galaxy, they synthesized the signals of large radio antennas located 10,000 kilometers apart, allowing experts to capture images with clarity 50 times higher than Hubble glasses.

'All three black superholes have about 100 million times the mass of the sun', says Deane.

The new finding shows that the community crowds huge black holes as a fact that is more common than previously thought, so it can reveal new ways to identify them.

Previously, astronomers had found four systems containing three black holes, with their closest distance being 7,825 light-years,

In the new finding, the nearest black hole pair is only 455 light years apart, according to the Nature report.
