The largest (and most exotic) seed in the world

For the first time the sailors looked like this particle floating in the sea, they immediately thought of the curvaceous curves of the spring girls. That's why the name ' callipyge ' came into being - in Greek, meaning ' butt .'

These are the seeds of Coco de mer coconut family - originating from the small island of St Pierre, Chauve-Souris and Round but so far can only be found in the Praslin and Curieuse islands of the Seychelles island nation (Indian Ocean). .

Coco de mer coconut can grow to a height of 25-34 meters, the foliage spreads like a propeller, covering the shade to an area of 7-10 meters long and 4 meters wide.

Coco de mer coconut fruit when fully matured (usually takes 6-7 years) with a diameter of 40-50 cm, weighing 15-30kg, its seeds are considered the largest in the plant world. For 2 more years of germination, this seed will have a ' double shore ' shape as in the picture.

Before 1768 - when the origin of Coco de mer coconut has not been discovered, many people keep in mind that this is the fruit of a mysterious tree that grows from the sea. Even many European aristocrats of the 16th century took their shells, washed them and decorated them with expensive jewelry, considered them a precious collection in their galleries.
