The Legend of the Lost City of Caesars - The Unseen Land of Patagonia

The Legend of the Lost City of Caesars, The Unseen Land of Patagonia

The city of Caesars (Wandering City) was a mythical land that existed in Patagonia, between present-day Chile and Argentina. According to historical documents, it was a city rich in gold and diamonds. The inhabitants of the city are also depicted in a variety of ways, from Europeans to giants. Although reports of its existence have been circulating for 200 years, no trace of it has ever been found.

This legend is reminiscent of El Dorado, Colombia's lost city of gold, the Lost City of Z, rich in the jungles of Chile, and Paititi, the legendary last city of the Incas in the Peruvian Andes.

In 1515, the Spanish explorer Juan de Solis and his men were attacked by natives while on an expedition near present-day Buenos Aires. Rumors spread that the survivors of de Solis' group had walked inland towards Patagonia, where they arrived in a wonderful city inhabited by a race of white people.

The first reference to the city comes from Francisco Cesar, who went on an expedition in Argentina in 1528 and found a rich city made of precious metals deep within the Andean Mountains, which he called Ciudad de los Césares (the city of Caesars').

Hearing the rumours, Jesuit missionaries in Patagonia, believing that Caesars City was an island of salvation, joined the search.

In 1540, a shipwreck in the Strait of Magellan resulted in about 200 deaths. The turning point in the story came when in 1563 (23 years later) two of the missing crew returned to Chile and told the story of their adventures and how they discovered a city containing full of treasures belonging to the Incas. However, another story originates in the 17th century and refers to Spanish colonists who found a city they believe to be the lost City of Caesars.

More research in our century has been done by the Delphos Foundation, who reported that a rock formation found in the Argentine province of Rio Negro, known as the "Argentine Fort", is part of the City. Caesars.

According to this research, they believe that this fortress was built by the Knights Templar to protect the Holy Grail. According to many researchers, the Templars traveled to the Americas before Christopher Columbus, and one theory mentions that the Holy Grail, along with the rest of the Templar treasures, reached the Americas before his massacre. Knights Templar.

Delphos Foundation researchers supported their hypothesis with maps, in particular the one published in 1865 by Juan Antonio Victor Martin de Moussy, a cartographer who referred to the Fort as "The Cannon" abandoned old radio". The Delphos Foundation led numerous expeditions to the area between 1997 and 2006.

Whether the fortress is the key to finding the mythical city is yet to be discovered; But what is clear is that the search for untold riches in distant lands has captivated the hopes and dreams of explorers for centuries.
