According to a representative of an Internet-connected service provider, if the entire "capacity" of TVH is used up for the Internet, it also accounts for less than 7% of the total Internet capacity. While at present, the total Internet connection capacity of the 3 largest IXPs is FPT, VDC, Viettel is estimated at 8 Gb / sec. Moreover, TVH is only used by VNPT (VDC). Other businesses such as FPT, Viettel . are connected internationally via land-based fiber optic cables, along the Vietnam-China border line in the localities of Lang Son and Mong Cai.

Although not under stress, the IXP representatives expressed concern about the safety of SMW-3, the cable line is responsible for 90% of Vietnamese telecommunications communications going international. All confirmed that the risk of Internet collapse is completely real in case SMW-3 has a similar fate.
