Mayon, the most active volcano in the Philippines began to erupt, leaving thousands of people on the main island of Luzon to evacuate.

A photo taken on Luzon Island, Philippines, at the end of yesterday by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) showed the lava flows flowing down the ridge and a huge column of smoke rose above the mountain top, according CNN.
On January 14, Philippine authorities raised the warning level of the Mayon volcano eruption in the south to level 3 after observing the steam erupting and a flaming red lava flow. About 3,000 residents on the island have to leave their homes to evacuate.
