Smart Cars >>> 'prompt' fuel-saving driving
German automaker Volkswagen has announced it will begin producing the world's least fuel-efficient car, with a 10-liter gasoline tank that can run more than 500 kilometers.
Models with Volkswagen's future design
The VW XL1 is powered by a 800cc hybrid engine with electric motors and batteries. This allows it to run on battery power if the driver wants to eliminate the possibility of emissions from the environment, with a maximum speed of 50 km / h.
Unlike other hybrid cars available on the market, the XL1 can accelerate to 100km / h in 12.7 seconds, and a top speed of up to 160km / h, according to Motoramic.
Despite the weight of 795kg, half the size of a mid-size sedan in the US, the XL1 is firmly built thanks to carbon fiber technology.
Volkswagen has confirmed that it will ship a total of 50 units at the German-based Osnabrueck (assembled by hand) along with the Golf Cabriolet and the Porsche Boxster.
However, the German car did not mention the official price of this car.
