The mother is twins from two wombs
Claire Miles, 35, from the United Kingdom, unfortunately has a rare birth defect: there are two uterus with only half the size of a normal person. Thinking that motherhood is just a dream, yet she gave birth to healthy twins from those two wombs.
Miles' two " angels " were born caesarean and completely healthy. Baby Noah Henry from the right uterus and Masie Rose from the left uterus.
" I used to think I would never be a mother, now there are two miracles. My life is no longer just for two wombs, but for two children ," Miles said.
For the first time Miles discovered malformations when he was 20 years old, after experiencing a severe menstrual pain. She also had two cervixes and two vaginas. By the age of 21, two vaginal surgeries were performed in 1, but doctors thought it would be too risky to apply the same method to the uterus.
One month after the wedding, Miles and her husband were surprised to find pregnancy. A series of worrying days starts here. It is thought that only 25% chance of surviving for one or both children because the mother's uterus cannot fully relax when the pregnancy is large. " I was so excited when I heard my heartbeat suddenly falling into the pool when the doctor asked me to choose one of them ," Miles recalls. However, the Miles decided to take the risk to keep both.
Miles's uterus began to contract in the 31st week of pregnancy. To ensure the health of the fetus, the doctors decided to take the twins on the 33rd week. The two " angels " were born perfectly healthy. and each weighs 1.8 kg. After two days of special care, Miles was able to hold her in his arms. " I feel happy, grateful and loving. This is the best feeling in my life ."
Miles is one of about 70 women in the world pregnant in both wombs from 1905 up to now. In England 50 years ago, only 1 in 5 women like that gave birth to surviving.
