These are native animals in East Asia and some parts of Europe.

As native animals in East Asia and some parts of Europe, the lovebirds raise many speculations around its origins. Many ideas focused on the small card attached to the duck's feet and wondered if it was coming out from the local zoo. But the Central Park Zoo, which also houses a pet, confirms the animal swimming in the lake is not their own.

Manhattan Bird Alert thinks that a baby can be a private pet. However, raising ducks for pets is prohibited in New York.
