The mysterious face of a giant face appears on Mars

A giant strange face was discovered on the surface of Mars - sparking assumptions about alien life.

The photo was taken with space probes from the US Space Agency (NASA) from the red planet and posted on the agency's website in 2005.

NASA named the image "Chryse Alien" and affirmed that it was just a crater that impacted on the meteorite that was left in an unusual form due to later erosion.

Share on the alien life website earlier this week, researcher of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) Scott C Waring believes there could be more than a simple crater .

He wrote: "This was recorded by NASA on January 26, 2005, and no one had ever heard of it until now."

Researchers believe that the carvings in the image cannot be formed naturally. He added: "The eyes are over 250 meters long and fit perfectly in size and width."

"The grooves along the central forehead of the object show a unique feature of aliens that are not often seen."

The video was shared on the popular UFOmania YouTube channel - which drew nearly 9,000 hits in 24 hours.

A comment commented: "Just create a crater shaped like a giant alien, it does not mean alien."
