The excavated skeletons date from the 11th century to the 14th century. The study also revealed that these people may have been burned alive before the rest of the bones were broken into pieces. However, the hypotheses that they were eaten were rejected by archaeologists.

According to medieval myths, those who died could sometimes rise from the grave, walk around in the village, spread the disease and attack the people they met. Such mobile corpses are thought to have caused many crimes when alive, so even if they die, they will not let go of this world.

Chinese researchers have written books on how to deal with the dead, including ways to decompose the dead bodies into parts and bring them to the pyre.

Many people do not understand why the village was abandoned during the 16th century.

A group from the University of Southampton's historic agency, studied 137 skeletons found in the village and discovered at least 10 of them. They found many skeletons with cut knives, indicating that the victim's body was decayed before being burned. Analysis of the victims' teeth also showed that most of the victims were in the region.

Wharram Percy is one of the largest and best preserved Medieval villages in the UK. For more than 60 years, archaeologists have used many modern technologies to study the village and why it was abandoned. It is known that the village once flourished between the 12th and 14th centuries, when the member of Count Percy's family lived here. However, in the 16th century, the village was completely abandoned.
