The island is home to about 50 different species of trees, many seabirds are also eager to 'exploit' this pristine environment. Beginning to form only 10 years ago, the island's appearance really surprised scientists.
'In fact, the formation of a new island in such a short period of time is very impressive. Nature conservationists claim this is a very unusual event, ' commented Detlef Hansen at Wadden Sea National Park.
According to German scientists, the formation of a new island in the above shallow water area is often very unlikely because the winter storms here are very intense, can challenge any sand dunes that intend to up. However, this new island has survived through storms, rising 4m above the water surface and the dense vegetation that makes the island stand.
The new island was named Norderoogsand . This is not only a place to conserve ideal flora and fauna, but also a shelter for residents of nearby islands when struck by storms.
